“It will come about that just as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so...
“I will save you that you may become a blessing.
“Do not fear; let your hands be strong.”
Paul instructed believers to “remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’” (Acts 20.35). Giving makes us feel good. It is part of our God-given nature to share what we have with others. I have so I can give. I am blessed to bless.
Against incredible odds of success, the reunited remnants of “Judah and… Israel” returned from exile to their home in Jerusalem after seventy years of exile in Babylon. They were saved by the supernatural power of God (Zechariah 4.6) from their oppressive existence for a purpose... that they might “become a blessing... among the nations.” Zechariah’s Jews were charged with the enormous task of rebuilding the Temple of God and reestablishing the practice of worship in God’s holy city. The chosen people were chosen for a reason. They were saved and chosen to bless and give to others.
“…I will save you that you may become a blessing.”
I am saved for exactly the same purpose.
“God our Savior… wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.”
1st Timothy 2.3-4 NLT
“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”
Mark 16.15 NIV
The Christmas season is a time of giving. I have been given a life-changing relationship with Jesus. I must share Him with others.
